Hello, my name is Mat Rebeaud. I was born and raised in Payerne, Switzerland, by a motocross family. My father and grandfather both raced motocross, so I was a shoo-in to start riding at a young age. I was lucky enough to get my first bike when I turned four, and spent the majority of my childhood racing in the amateur ranks. In 2002, at the age of 20, I finally made the jump to chase my professional racing dreams. Through a natural progression and a love for jumping, however, I slowly began practicing freestyle tricks more and more, and racing began taking a backseat to ramps and dirt hits. With tons of contests and demos to participate in, Freestyle quickly began taking up the vast majority of my time. It was at that point that I officially decided to put my motocross racing career on hold to focus all of my energy on FMX.

My competitive freestyle career started by riding the IFMXF tour events, and I eventually won the Night of the Jumps Championship in 2005. As the true Mecca of FMX, I decided to move to the United States part-time during the summer of that same year to ride and train in-between the European events. Then, in 2006, I went on to win the FIM Freestyle Motocross World Championships, which was a huge boost for my career. With my part-time move to the States and my hard work continuing to pay off in 2006, I also took home the Silver Medal at Winter X Games 10, and another Silver at Summer X Games 12. I've spent the past couple of years since then traveling back an forth between Europe and the US to compete in contests, ride demos, and train in whichever climate is optimal at the time.

Today, after several more wins under my belt, including the 2008 Red Bull X-Fighters Series Championship, my goals and priorities are still the same; I plan to continue riding and competing in the US and Europe, participating in all of the major international events like the X Games and Red Bull X-Fighters; but more than anything, I hope to continue having fun while helping to evolve the sport I love the most.
