Teaming up with Swiss rider Andreas Kugler, Hannes Genze is expected to leave a mark in long-distance races. As a team, the two are going to compete for the overall victory in some of the sport’s most prestigious stage races such as the Cape-Epic, the Trans-Schwarzwald or the Transalp. Last year these two riders won the «Trans-Schwarzwald» and missed out on the overall victory at the legendary «Bike Transalp» by only a few seconds. Additionally, Genze was an key factor in the «Multivan Merida Bikimg Team»’s superior victory in the «Trans-Germany»’s team ranking, winning no less than six stages. With two German national titles, a European championship title and a number of victories at big marathon races under his belt, Hannes Genze is one of the world’s strongest long-distance racers. Apart from being a professional mountain bike racer, Genze is studying mechanical engineering in Stuttgart an is an enthusiastic alpinist.
